How can I join the lotto syndicate?
You can join by completing the registration form and send your payment. You should be a resident of Canada and at least
18 years of age and that you agree to all the rules and procedures of the lotto syndicate as described in this FAQ webpage.
How much does it cost to join a syndicate?
The cost of joining is $20 per share per month. Your initial contribution will be calculated at the current share of each members. The amount accumulated will be used to purchase tickets if the jackpot prize roll up to $20 million or more depending on the number of current members. The target is to win at least $1 million for each share.
When can a member quit?
Any member can quit any from the syndicate at any time. Simply send an email to carlito@lottosyndicate.ca informing the organizer
of your intentions to quit. Your payout from the syndicate is calculated by dividing the current balance by the current number
of shares. The result is rounded down to the nearest dollar.
Do you use group agreement for lotto syndicate?
Yes. WCLC provides a Group Buying Agreement (GBA) as a way to help lotto syndicate coordinate who is participating and we are
using this form. This form, however is modified to make the manager's job easier when new members come in and some members get out.
WCLC allowed to create our own form as long as the following information are included:
• the name of the group trustee
• the type of game(s)
• the draw date and, if possible, the ticket numbers
• each member’s name, address, telephone number, share and signature
Copy of the agreement will de downloaded in this site and we will only require the signatures if a major prize is won.
Does WCLC require a copy of our Group Buying Agreement?
No. Unless a group is claiming a lottery prize from a Prize Payout Office, the GBA is for the group's own records and does not
have to be registered with WCLC.
What name or names should we print on the back of our group tickets?
The syndicate's manager or trustee print or legibly sign his name on the back of the ticket after purchase and then write
the words “In Trust” after the name. This indicates the ticket is a group ticket.
If our lotto syndicate does win a major prize, how are the cheques distributed?
For any winning ticket, only one prize cheque can be issued - to a maximum of two people. If there are multiple holders of
a winning ticket – as with a syndicate win - WCLC pays the complete prize to the individual designated by the group as its
trustee. The trustee would then disburse it to the remainder of the group.
How does the small winnings be distributed to the members?
Winnings that is less than $5,000 will be kept by the syndicate and will be used for buying more tickets if the jackpot price
reaches more than $20 Million to increase the chances of winning big jackpot. Winnings of more than $5,000 will be distributed
immediately to the members accordingly.
How often the tickets will be purchased?
The tickets will be purchased whenever the jackpot prize roll up to at least $20 million or more depending on the number of current members. The target is to win $1 million for each share.
What method to be used in choosing numbers?
The numbers will be chosen using lotto hat software. The idea is to come out with balanced number combinations that has 80% chance of winning. The combinations will also have a unique feautures to avoid duplication from other bettors. The software will take care of getting these numbers.
What is better, playing quick picks or picking your own numbers?
It is better to pick your own numbers rather than use quick picks. Every numbers, though, have equal chances of winning the
jackpot, however, there are some numbers that are good and some are bad. You should know the numbers to avoid playing such as
11-12-21-22-31-32. Quick picks have no control of selecting numbers because it is totally random generated from machine. So some
quick pick numbers have the possibility of picking bad numbers. Picking good numbers using lotto hat software has a better chances
of winning, though, it is not a guarantee to win major prizes.
Is the syndicate will play the Canada Lotto Max?
No. At this time we are only playing the Canada Lotto 6/49 and the objective is to win the jackpot so we are putting all the
available funds to this game to maximize the winning chances. If ever the jackpot prize of Lotto Max is so high, we might create a temporary group fro this purpose only.
Does the organizer of this lotto syndicate charge payments?
No. In Canada, it is not allowed to organise lottery syndicate for profit. All membership payments to this lotto syndicate
are used to buy tickets. Should a major prize has been won, any member are not also obliged to give gratuity to the organizer.
However, the organizer will accept any amount as donations for maintenance of this site. Also, we will be happy if you visit
some of our sponsors to this site and buy anything that would be of interest to you.
Are lottery winnings taxable?
No. All cash and merchandise prizes paid by WCLC are tax-free within Canada. However, prizes with an annuity option (for games
such as Payday) may have tax implications if the annuity is selected.
If we win a major prize, do we need to have our picture taken?
Yes. Under WCLC Rules and Regulations, the Corporation has no obligation to pay a prize unless the winner gives WCLC the right
to publish the winner's name, city or town of residence and/or recent photograph. Names and photographs of major lottery winners
are publicized to protect the integrity of the games – it verifies that prizes are won and shows that winners come from every walk of life. |
